Easy Doll Cake

Since this is my very first post, ever, I will just make it short and sweet.

This cake was made just for the fun of it because my little girl wanted a doll cake.  I had looked at the Wilton doll cake kit and decided that it was a little too pricey when making a cake for really, no occasion at all.  It is one of life's little joys for me to make fun cakes with my family just for the fun of it.

It's really, quite simple.  All you need is a bundt cake pan, a plastic doll from the dollar store, a piece of posterboard or cardstock paper, a cake mix of your choosing, and a can of frosting.

Mix up the cake according to package directions and bake in a well greased and floured bundt pan.  After cooling, remove the cake from the pan onto a serving tray.  Then, frost the cake however you like.  Next, roll the paper into a cone and cut to fit so that it sits on top of the cake and looks like the cake is the bottom part of the dress.  Also, make sure that the doll fits in the top opening and then tape or staple the paper together with the doll inside.  Next, set the doll and paper on the cake and frost the paper in any way that pleases you.  Also, make sure to add some frosting to make the doll's top.  We don't want to leave her shirtless! :)

It is really just that easy and so much fun for little girls.  Enjoy!
